International Master's Degree Programmes in Germany

University of Kassel, Germany

University of Kassel, Germany

Students who have obtained a Master of Science in Mathematics at the University of Kassel, can recognize, classify, formulate and solve complex problems with a mathematical reference.

The exact orientation of the Master's programme is based on the choice of mathematical focus and application subjects.

The central research focus of our Institute of Mathematics lies in current areas of analysis, computer algebra, optimization, stochastics and numerics. The special feature of Mathematics at the University of Kassel is its computer and application orientation, which is particularly evident in interdisciplinary projects with the engineering sciences. There are no admission restrictions. The language of instruction is English. Begin of study in summer or winter semester.

The master’s programme Nanoscience is a perfect course for students, who have an eye for minute details and wish to examine things very closely.

The nanoscience master’s degree, which follows on from the nanostructure science bachelor’s degree, focuses on further developing the interdisciplinary approach to physics, chemistry and biology, specialisation and applied issues, e.g. in the field of nanoelectronics, supramolecular chemistry or molecular biology.

In the inconceivably minuscule world of nanostructures – after all, one nanometre only measures about one millionth of a millimetre – you will be expected to be able to independently plan laboratory work and conduct experiments as well as present the results verbally and in writing; all these are skills needed to prepare you for your career.

The interaction between light and matter, quantum dynamics and control, nanostructures, laboratory astrophysics, magnetic layers and surface physics are the main research topics at the Institute of Physics at the University of Kassel.

In our Master’ Programme in Physics, you will have the opportunity to work with internationally renowned scientists on highly topical issues in basic and applied research.

A special research area dealing with “Extreme Light for the Analysis and Control of Molecular Chirality“ (ELCH) gives you the chance to use the most advanced tools in experimental and theoretical atomic and molecular physics, as well as in optics and quantum optics (AMO) in the gas phase to control and manipulate chirality at the single molecule level.
