Saint Petersburg of Management Technologies and Economics (UMTE)

Saint Petersburg of Management Technologies and Economics (UMTE) is the largest private university in the Northwest of Russia, operating under the scientific and methodological guidance of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It implements over 90 educational programs at the bachelor's, master's, and postgraduate levels in the following areas: economics, management, public administration, internet technologies, law, advertising and PR, marketing, linguistics, hotel business and tourism, human resource management, psychology and pedagogy, and others. The university has implemented an effective system of lifelong learning through college, bachelor's, master's, postgraduate, and additional education programs. Modern technologies, distance and online learning are actively used. The university has over 10,000 students, including more than 500 international students.

The main task of the University is to train a new type of managers, modern leaders capable of organizing effective business processes in the context of digital transformation, globalization and regionalization of the economy, which impose new requirements for the formation of innovative skills, information openness and cybersecurity.

The University cooperates with different Russian enterprises and organizations, where students have a unique opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-life business challenges and build professional connections and start their career paths. Among the partners of UMTE are regional and local authorities in St. Petersburg, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gazprom, Russian Railways, Rosneft, Sberbank, VTB, Bank Saint-Petersburg, Petersburg TV and Radio Company, leading telecommunication companies and many others.

The University is actively developing its research activities. University scientists are implementing measures aimed at creating and advancing a cutting-edge infrastructure in priority scientific areas. The University is home to seven scientific schools: management of innovative development of regions and corporate structures; sociology of management, social structure, social institutions and processes; social psychology, developmental psychology, acmeology; management of security and efficiency of economic systems based on international practice; research of information systems regularities and modeling of information processes; state-legal protection of human and civil rights, freedoms and legitimate interests in the Russian Federation; management of entrepreneurial structures in the conditions of reforming the Russian economy.

The leading periodicals of the university are: the Russian scientific journal "Economics and Management", the scientific journal "Sociology and Law", and the scientific journal "Scientific Notes of UMTE". The scientific journals "Economics and Management" and "Sociology and Law" are included in the Higher Attestation Commission (VAK) list. All journals have high scientific potential and are indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI).

More than 30 major international, national, and regional scientific conferences, round tables, and forums are held annually at the university, attracting scientists, graduate students, and students to discuss current economic, environmental, social, pedagogical, legal, linguistic, and other issues.

UMTE pays special attention to the research of undergraduate and graduate students who annually become winners of the scholarship of the President and Government of the Russian Federation, competitions of the Government of St. Petersburg: “Student of the Year”, “Best Student”, grant competition for students organized by industry and academic institutions located in St. Petersburg and competitions of the Russian State Science Foundation.

The University has extensive experience in international cooperation with universities in Asia and Latin America, as well as CIS countries. Students and faculty of the university actively participate in academic mobility programs. The University implements international educational and research projects. The University has positive experience and the necessary competencies for participating in and implementing international educational and research projects.
