Due to its history and traditions, the University of Craiova is an institution of higher education of complex integration. The number of teaching staff and students ranks the University of Craiova among the five largest Romanian Universities.

Situated in the very center of the historical region of Oltenia, the University developed and increased the number of its profiles and specializations in order to meet the requirements of a modern higher education.

The University organizes short-term courses (3 years), long-term courses (4-5 years), MA courses (1-2 years), and PhD courses.

The University library ensures up-to-date documentation for specialists, with its 1,400 000 titles and 185 subscriptions to foreign journals and periodicals.
