The University degree exam is given at the end of the study period in accordance with the Education Council laws and consists of three tests:
basic sciences, medico-surgical and dental specialities and a Diploma paper work. It is authorised by the Government Decision HG no 225 April 1996 and assures the obtaining of the university degree "Doctor Medic Stomatolog MDS" The University prepares dental surgeons specialised in dental assistance and also initiates them in scientific research.

"Apollonia" University offers to the graduates students, young doctors preparing themselves for the specialist exam and experienced doctors preparing major doctor exam the opportunity to study and to be up to date. So we organise in our University diversified courses to inform specialise or improve the knowledge of the postgraduate students Reaching a wide audience courses like :

About the University
University "APOLLONIA" has only been founded for 9 years,
but is already a known nucleus of professional, intellectual, cultural
and humanitarian life here in Iasi and all around in Romania. We consider that "Apollonia University" has created its own structure and a complex, competitive material basis which offers excellent conditions for a high quality modern and thorough – going education:

is like that we have been nominated for accreditation between the only 3 private Medical Schools in Romania.
"Apollonia" University runs as a non – profitable institution based on departments with morphological, physiological, medico-surgical, dental and all-round medical fields. The authorities of the University includes the Rector and 5 counsellors named by "Saint Apollonia" Foundation, a Teachers Senate elected in
secret, department directors, 2 representatives of the student s parents and one student from each year of studies.
"Apollonia" University has its own teaching staff and also associated teachers from Iasi, Romania and even abroad (France, Switzerland, Greece, Germany or Israel) working with our students during modules and presenting lectures too.
The educational process is 6 years long, day time courses. It takes 32 weeks every year and has Easter and Christmas and a summer holiday. The didactic activity of the University goes from October 1st to July 30th ; between 16 to 30 July our students do their summer medical practice in dental centres or city dental surgeries backhome under guidance of their professors or mayor doctors.
Graduates of high-schools and colleges from Romania and other countries with a "Diploma of Baccalaureate" may join the courses of "Apollonia" University. They have to pass an exam which takes place in the second half of September every year. The tests in biology, chemistry and physics are approved by Education Ministry. The admission is made in the order of their marks after the payment of an annual fee.
The didactic activity with students have been conceived in an modulated manner 30 hours per week, 32 weeks per year and includes : courses, labwork, operations, probation for Dental Specialities training. Groups of 6-8 students prepare themselves with one teacher through seminars and tests during a module and give a final assessment with 2 compulsory tests : a practical examination and a theoretical one. Marks go from 1 to 10 and minimal promoting mark is 5 since this year our University introduced the credits system in order to alienate itself to European standards. At the end of these 6 years of study our graduates have the capacity and skills to fit in any dental practice being able to : evaluate for diagnosis and therapeutically evaluation for one clinical case, to perform prophylactic activities and curative activities in Endodontics, Cariology, Oral Surgery, Periodontology, Prosthetics, Orthodontics and so on.

"Apollonia" University has its own building in Pacurari 11 street with a complex architecture and endowed at high standard. Preclinical education can be made in labs with all sorts of equipment and materials, kavo working phantomes, amphitheatres, a
library, a lecture room and a professional video collection "Apollonia" University Library has a rich fund of books and medical periodics at the every day disposition of our students. It also has the privilege to benefit by Apollonia Publishing House which main activity is editing medicine books.
Three medical centres specialised on Oral and Periodontal surgery Paediatric Dentistry and Odontology and Prosthetics offers dental training under teacher‘s guidance in the probation and practice periods 40 Dental Units offer to our students the access to dental practice every day and the possibility of training themselves in dental assistance. The University Military Hospital prepares our students in General Medicine, General surgery, Ophthalmology, O.R.L., Infection Diseases, Neurology, Psychiatry, Paediatrics and so on.
We have pursued to create academic conditions for a high education. This is the reason why a Club of Arts has already 3 years of running on organising meetings with composers, painters, writers, historians and actors from intellectual world of Iasi and Romania. We also trained our students to organise
visits to helpless peoples and to perform free treatments for children and old peoples,
handicapped persons or orphans.
After graduation as a dental surgeon "Apollonia" University offers to their graduates, to young and experienced doctors too the opportunity to study and to be up to date. By organising diversified courses to inform specialise and improve knowledge of the postgraduate students to be up to date in the medical field means to continuously improve techniques, to obtain professional competence and to hear about the most new achievements in this field from Romania or abroad.
In the scientific research field we have to mention "Saint Apollonia‘s Days" which offers each February the opportunity to display the
results of our scientific research; many collaborators from Iasi, Romania and Europe
are invited too. The concrete proof of our scientific research is the Plan of Research Themes an agreement
between Saint Apollonia Foundation, Apollonia University and The Academy of Medical Science from Romania. The results and observation of our scientific work is published in the Revue "Stomatological Medicine" with a bimonthly apparition.
