About the Courses and the School
We are a small school and only take a LIMITED number of students in our small classes because we wish to be a special school offering intensive & expert English language skills tuition to small groups of interested adult students - who like to 'work hard and play hard' in and outside the classroom! If you like watersports, culture, history & walking and cycling in the countryside, plus lots of laughter, chatting and live music in traditional Irish pub, one of our villages unique 14 pubs - you will not be disappointed with our location.
Our lessons are functional AND fun and always professionally taught.

What makes Atlantic School of English & Active Leisure unique?
Maximum 4 adults only per group - this guarantees that special attention can be given to every student's individual language learning needs.
Our school is located in the beautiful & lively village of Schull in magical South West Cork, Ireland. The location is ideal for relaxing and learning in beautiful scenic surroundings where the friendly local people love to chat to our students.
Expert tuition from experienced and highly qualified teachers. All our teachers are university graduates with specialist qualifications in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (T.E.F.L.). All of our teachers are also qualified teacher traineres (holding higher diplomas and Masters degrees)
Even though we offer specialist programmes, small groups, expert tuition and a marvelous location, our prices are very competitive indeed and often cheaper than other language schools offering less advantages.
Specialist programmes are our speciality. We can design a programme to fit your language and leisure needs perfectly. In addition to General English language programmes we can arrange Business English, Academic English (for university students), Exam Preparation Courses (Cambridge, Pitman, TOEFL, TOEIC etc.) & English for Professional Needs (Law, Economics, Finance, Marketing, etc).
We believe that adult students should make adult decisions and be free to choose. Students can design their programme including accommodation and even transport options to suit their budget perfectly. You can study 'English Only' or 'English & Active Leisure' & you can decide exactly what kind of accommodation you would feel most comfortable in and we can arrange it for you with ease.
Our summer junior programmes have a maximum of 6 young students only per class - and their leisure programme is surely the most exciting and varied programme on offer in Ireland! We have our own large boat for our students leisure programme and we are located next to the islands of Cape Clear, Sherkin, Long Island and of course the famous Fastnet Lighthouse is always an exciting boat visit to remember.
