Technical aspects of Medical Engineering and Analytics
The program focuses on many technical aspects of Medical Engineering and Analytics, including Mobile System Development and Software Development. Active and Assisted Living (AAL) is another core element of the program that enables students to face the challenges of an aging society. They also learn about Software Consulting, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Device and Medical Device Development.
Additional to theoretical input, students at the Master degree study program ‘Medical Engineering and Analytics’ receive hands-on training in specialized laboratories. Within the master degree program Medical Engineering and Analytics, students can concentrate on one of the following two areas of specialization: Medical Engineering and Image Processing focuses on topics in the area of medical engineering research and development. A special field of interest in this context is medical imaging systems and the resulting medical image processing. This career field provides an especially interesting interface between technology, organization and medicine. The second area of specialization is Health Informatics. Students receive a broad, yet specialized, view of the implementation of information technology and engineering as well as the organizational structures and processes in the healthcare sector.

The Master degree study program “Medical Engineering and Analytics” enables graduates to successfully face the challenges in the healthcare sector. Equipped with technical and medical knowledge they are sought-after by a wide variety of potential employers in the health care industry. The program also prepares them for upcoming social issues like Active and Assisted Living (AAL) and Instrumental Activities of daily Living (iADL), which become more and more important as we are moving towards an aging society.
Students benefit from practical trainings in dedicated laboratories and work there in small groups. Two areas of specialization allow them to further deepen their interests: Medical Engineering and Image Processing or Health Informatics can be chosen over the course of the degree program. Thanks to strong cooperation with the Health Care sector, the program is able to invite professionals and experts as guest lecturers

Graduates of the master degree program Medical Engineering and Analytics are able to:
- comprehend, analyze and remodel processes in medicine, nursing and Management,
- develop and implement QM systems in healthcare,
- retrieve their detailed knowledge of the conception, design and functionality of healthcare information systems in order to design such Systems,
- describe the interaction of economics success, technology , processes and quality in healthcare,
- plan and use indicators for the implementation of corporate guidelines in the areas of procurement, planning an d development,

University administration
CUAS was founded in 1995 in the legal form of an association as a carrier of the University of Applied Sciences study programs in Carinthia. The seat of the association was in Spittal an der Drau. Since the beginning of 2002, the University of Carinthia - Charitable Private Foundation has been the sponsor and maintainer of the University of Applied Sciences degree programs.
The private foundation is financed by contributions from the federal government, the state of Carinthia, and the communities of Villach, Spittal / Drau, Klagenfurt, and Feldkirchen. In addition, the membership fees of the association, which has become one of the 15 founders, as well as donations and proceeds from events, contribute to the financing of the operation of the organization.

The works council is the link between the employees and the employer. The task is to act as a mediator, but also to act as a one-stop-shop. The current works council team harmonizes complements itself well and is eager to implement the concerns for all colleagues positively.
An elected works council can - based on the solidarity within the workforce - actively and consistently address and represent the concerns of its colleagues.
