About Riverside Community College District

Located on 108 acres in downtown Riverside, the City campus was built on the site of the former Riverside Poly High School. Several of the original buildings acquired by the District from RPHS still stand and serve our students. The first classes were held here in September 1916.

The College, which has three campuses, enrolls approximately 22,000 people. Part of the California Community College system, RCC offers the first two years of a four-year education. Students are prepared to transfer to four-year universities for the final two years of study toward a Baccalaureate degree. The Center for International Students provides assistance in selecting courses that will be accepted for transfer to California State University and University of California campuses, as well as to private colleges and universities throughout the United States.

More than 2,000 classes are offered each semester in more than 60 majors. In addition to courses that prepare for transfer, the College offers courses leading to the Associate degree, which is awarded after two years (or 60 units) of study. Courses in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Pre-Engineering, English, and Office Administration are popular with international students. Certificate programs in many occupational fields are also available.
