Established in the early 1980s (as a branch campus of Huron University, South Dakota, USA founded in 1883) Huron University USA in London has evolved into a truly global independent university located in London, UK. In 1997 Huron - London entered into a strategic alliance with Marlboro College, Vermont, USA. Through this alliance, Huron - London is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) - a regional accreditation body in the USA.
The university is also accredited in the U.K. by the British Accreditation Council For Independent Further and Higher Education (BAC). In addition to this, the business degrees are also accredited by the European Council of Business Education (ECBE).
Students at Huron - London represent over 50 nationalities. In January 2004 Huron University moved to a new Campus in central London. Huron's new buildings lie beside one of the city's oldest and largest garden squares - Russell Square - in the middle of the Bloomsbury district of London. For centuries the district of Bloomsbury has been at the academic and literary heart of central London. Home to the oldest and largest concentration of universities in London, Bloomsbury hosts some of the most extensive and diverse university libraries and educational facilities in the world. The British Museum is a stone throw away and the British Library - a mere fifteen-minute walk! Huron students have access to the University of London Union and its facilities in addition to the famous Senate House Library.
Classes are deliberately kept small to ensure personal attention to the academic and personal welfare of students. Shared and self-catering accommodation is provided in the Hall of Residence located about 30 minutes from the university.
All of our courses have a strong emphasis on the practical element of learning. Internship placements with international firms and organisations are an integral part of the Huron educational experience, and our graduates find that the international work experience gained at Huron is of great interest to employers. World Field Study projects provide global exposure to the undergraduates.
A number of highly competitive partial scholarships are offered to students on a merit-and-need basis.
