SSTH is one of 6 accredited hotel management schools in Switzerland having the Swiss Federal Government recognition for the German division and Swiss Federal Government equivalency declaration for the English division. It is also the only Swiss hotel management school that offers German and English taught programs on the same campus.

The education program at Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality is not just "theory focused"; there is lots of practical training and hands-on work involved, as hotel management is nothing that can be taught in theory only. About the Courses


Swiss Diploma in Hotel Operations – 1.5 years
This program is for students whose goal is to become manager in one of the functional departments of a hotel or restaurant. Beside theory, classes and in-house practical training of 1-year, students will attend a paid internship of 6 months in a hotel or restaurant in Switzerland or abroad.

Swiss Higher Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management- 3 years
This program is a three years course and is for students wanting to pursue a managerial career in the hospitality industry. This program prepares students for managerial responsibilities in single operating units or chain organizations. Besides the theory, classes and the in-house practical training students attend a paid internship of 1 year in a hotel or restaurant.

Bachelor of Arts in International Hospitality Management – 4 years
The objective of the Bachelor degree program is to prepare young professionals to become leading hospitality managers in the various hotels and tourism outlets around the world.

Students who have successfully completed their Swiss Higher Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management may enter the bachelor degree program at SSTH. Since August 2008 the BA Program can be studied on campus in Passugg/Switzerland. Students have the opportunity to obtain the QMU-Queen Margaret University Bachelor of Arts in International Hospitality Management in 2 semesters.

Post Graduate Diploma in International Hospitality Management – 1.5 years
This program provides graduate students with a sound and thorough understanding of operations in the area of hospitality, to complement their previous significant background in another field. Managerial subjects are complemented by operational courses. The aim is to develop both the knowledge of practical skills necessary in the hospitality industry, and the critical thinking, entrepreneurship and problem solving required to become an effective and successful hospitality executive or manager. Students aiming for a Master degree have the opportunity to continue their studies with one of our partner university.
