Established in 1991, Manchester Academy of English is a language school running year round courses for speakers of other languages, and teacher training courses for native and non-native speakers of English. It is fully accredited by the British Council and a member of ARELS/ENGLISHUK.
Manchester Academy is situated in a historic building in the heart of Manchester, famous for shopping, culture, entertainment, music and sports – a major university city with the largest student population in Europe.
Students of all ages and abilities from all over the world come to study courses which may range in length from a week to a complete year. They may be sent by their company or study as individuals, in small groups or on a one-to-one basis.
All the teachers at Manchester Academy are graduates, with special qualifications and experience in teaching English as a foreign language. The Principal, Sandra Kaufman, has extensive qualifications and a lifetime’s experience in teaching English to people from all countries.
Inside Manchester Academy you will find well-equipped, bright classrooms, with the latest teaching aids including an excellent stock of books, language laboratory, videos and computers equipped with CD-ROMs and multi-media for language learning. The atmosphere is friendly and comfortable and you can have a drink and chat to your new friends in the common room, borrow books from the library or plan your social and tourist adventures with the help of our friendly and knowledgeable staff.
At all levels, students are taught in small classes (average size 6/10 students with maximum 12 students) and all the language skills are practised, the emphasis varying according to the level of the class.
