About the Global Executive MBA
The SDA Bocconi Global Executive MBA equips experienced managers with multi-dimensional skills and strategic thinking relevant on an immediate basis. It offers a focused curriculum that runs at an appropriate rate in a way to earn a degree within 20 months along with complementing employment, tailored in a way to fit tight schedules through modular weeks and distance learning. The Global Executive MBA is entirely held in English and takes place on SDA Bocconi downtown Milan campus along with overseas campuses across Europe, China and U.S (class modules at Copenhagen Business School, UCLA Anderson School of Management, LA , and Fudan University, Shanghai).
The program targets professionals with global mindset combined with local sensitivity, willing to empower their international network and to share experiences with peers; ready to go back to school and start from scratch, putting themselves to the test. The SDA Bocconi Global EMBA is a launching pad for the career phases to come. It is an integrated preparation for senior management roles: throughout the 20 months, participants lead intense work as part of their commitment to managerial competence and promptly test the knowledge acquired at their work settings. Indeed, they hone their analysis and problem solving skills. They tend to gain a deep understanding of the various business disciplines in order to reach unflawed decisions. About SDA Bocconi School of Management
Founded in 1971 by Universitą Bocconi, SDA Bocconi School of Management was first a pioneer in Italy and today enjoys international recognition as a leading management school. Its mission is to educate men and women ready to act anywhere in the world, using their knowledge and imagination.
SDA Bocconi dedicates energy and resources to creating value and spreading values. Proof of this are its research, teaching and relations with the scientific, business and institutional communities. It is exemplified by its exchanges, international approach, critical spirit, pragmatism, curiosity and innovative strength. Knowledge and imagination are the shared pride and heritage of the faculty, its students, and thousands of alumni around the world.
In 1998, SDA Bocconi was the first institution in Italy to obtain EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) accreditation. SDA Bocconi operates on all the strategic fronts of education: executive courses, tailor-made courses, specialist master degrees and MBA programmes.
Knowledge and Imagination
SDA Bocconi School of Management is designed to optimize resources following the canons that drive successful businesses everywhere. In designing new offerings we encourage the fast, flexible and creative interaction of these canons by unleashing the entrepreneurial spirit of our faculty. The knowledge they impart and the imagination they bring to their efforts in turn enables individuals and organizations to improve their management culture, to more efficiently oversee resources, and to inspire the full potential of each employee. Our education involves both the exploration of theoretical models and the day-to-day reality of running a successful enterprise, and we instil in our students skills, knowledge and tools they can use every day when facing the challenges of an evolving marketplace.
Five Divisions are responsible for the various market areas. They work with the Departments to update open enrollment programs and to develop new products according to demand. Since companies often require multidisciplinary courses drawing from more than one Department, Project Groups follow the evolution of demand for education on particular issues.
This flexible system of widespread entrepreneurship means that the SDA Bocconi School of Management can respond quickly with custom executive programs that complement an already extensive portfolio of educational products. Companies, institutions and individuals who come to us find we are passionately committed to inspiring the professional and personal growth of each and every student.
Latest Rankings
SDA Bocconi is Italy's number one School of Management and now, according to the Financial Times' Global MBA Rankings 2011, the only Italian School in the European top 10 and the world's top 30. SDA Bocconi is also the only Italian School on the top of the charts of all main International Rankings. SDA Bocconi is first in the world in the Bloomberg Businessweek Ranking for Full-Time MBA Return On Investment, 7th in the Financial Times’ Best European Business Rankings, and 18th in the world, US excluded, in the general Bloomberg Businessweek Ranking. In addition, SDA Bocconi reached 6th position in Europe in the QS Top MBA Ranking based on the assessments of Recruiters.
A further testimony of the quality of the programs offered by SDA Bocconi is the accreditation by the AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), announced on 5 December 2011 by the Board of Directors of AACSB International. This accreditation, in addition to the previously awarded EQUIS and AMBA, marks the completion of the top three accreditations - the "triple crown" - offered to the top international business schools by the most important international institutions, and places the School among just 55 Business Schools worldwide to have received the AACSB accreditation.
